  My name is Jada York and I am Denver, Colorado born and raised. My pronouns are her/she. My major is environmental science. For my current, everyday profession I am a homeless shelter coordinator. I also have been working for myself to sell skin and lip care products for about 3 years now. The things I enjoy doing for fun are traveling, reading a good book, or just any fun activity out with friends or family. An unpopular opinion that I have is that avoiding confrontation does not make a peaceful environment it just keeps, An ingenuine environment. My personal goals are to be consistent with keeping up with my physical, mental, and spiritual health. Academically, I want to do more than just pass my classes, I want to do my best to excel in them. My professional goals are to get my degree on time and use it first and foremost. Lastly and importantly, another professional goal, is to monetize my business and music with patience, passion, and hard work. Challenges I have faced in previous courses are not being provided enough visual learning to understand my assignment. Some of them are unresolved but I respect that not all teachers have the same teaching style as all students do not have the same learning style. The best way my instructor can help me is through communication. I expect to learn more about my reading, writing, and communication skills, in this course. I am hoping to improve all of the above for myself. I would like for this course to help me do that through different projects, enabling me to use the material long after this course.
